2024 – Speakers and Programs

During each month’s General Meeting, the Jacksonville Orchid Society presents a program often consisting of speakers and hand-on activities of interest to our membership and orchid growers across the Northeast Florida area. Our speakers are knowledgeable and discuss the many forms of orchids and orchid culture. Very often the speakers will also bring along a selection of orchid appropriate for growth in the Northeast Florida area.

Upcoming 2024 speakers:

July 9 – Julien Baruch from Krull-Smith (see https://www.krullsmith.com/) will present “An introduction to Bulbophyllums”
August 13 – Ron McHatton, Executive Director of the American Orchid Society (see https://www.aos.org/), will present “General Orchid Growing”
September 10 – Speaker To Be Announced. The previously scheduled speaker had to cancel.
October 8 – James Arnold, noted JOS member, will present “Paphiopedilum growing in Florida”
November 12 – Speaker or Program To Be Announced.
December – This month’s program is our annual Christmas Holiday Party.
